Chapter Twelve (“Flowing On: The Future”) closes the book with a subjective view of the future of flow cytometry, which may include analysis of larger and smaller particles, sorting by optical zapping or in more directions at once, routine use of extra lasers and super-multiparameters, increasing study of autofluorescence, and increasing incorporation of imaging and flow cytometry into integrated core cell analysis laboratories.
